Images from a naturalised tree growing near old railway station exhibit(this tree was cut down in 2012). MOTAT used to have several plantings of Chilean pelu (Sophora cassioides) but all have been removed now partly through redevelopment but also through pointing out that the 'kowhai' they were growing wasn't the New Zealand indigenous 'one'. Sophora cassioides is however occasional seen around Auckland as a Street Verge tree - and it does sparingly naturalised both in Auckland and in Wellington where it is also planted.
