Sunning itself on stream edge. Very strange observation made by a friend of mine on GBI. I have informed Auckland Council Biosecurity an they are on the case. Will have to catch an ID for a positive ID. Hopefully not a slider turtle but likely to large for a Chinese pond turtle.
