For nature and the naturalist, hoarding is all too natural.

The Grays are pretty good at the endeavor, too, and, according to a study conducted in California in 2017, may even have a way to organize their collections to make the finding task more efficient. To be sure, the animals in the research were Fox Squirrels, a reasonably close relative, and the critters studied lived on the campus of a noted institution of higher learning, but, reporting in the august journal Royal Society Open Science, University of California at Berkeley scientists Mikel Delgado and Lucia Jacobs discovered that their research subjects crafted caches composed of just one or two nut species.
