Snow Day

Snow days are still exhilarating. Despite the improvements to weather forecasting that take some of the surprise from the event—schools closed twelve hours in advance, salt mixtures applied to the streets in anticipation, computer generated snowfall maps available at the touch of a finger—there's no escaping the dazzlement of waking to a half foot of new snow.
