Blue Thumb Monitoring Site - Soldier Creek: Highway 66's Journal

August 1, 2020

31 July 2020

It seems that every time I go out to monitor this year it's after a rain event. Today was no different; there's been rain for the last two days. The stream remains pretty clean, although there was a lot of scum/foam buildup in right past the drop-off. There were lot of critters out, and I tried my hand at an impromptu macroinvertebrate collection, but surprisingly good results!

20+ observations for iNat.
Nothing out of the ordinary for the stream.
Four small patches of purple loosestrife.
