Some say ‘hazing’ stops coyotes from becoming urbanized. Biologists aren’t so sure.

Research scientist Niamh Quinn approached with caution as an intelligent predator with a long, narrow muzzle, sharp teeth and yellow eyes peered at her from the grip of a trap, awaiting its fate.

Coyote spotted roaming downtown SF with rat in mouth.

While it's not so unexpected to see a coyote in Golden Gate Park or the Presidio, spotting one trotting around near the San Francisco waterfront is definitely jarring. On Friday evening, a coyote-on-the-go was seen racing down Vallejo Street and onto Front Street with a rat in its mouth.

Lawsuit Launched to Protect Endangered California Foxes, Other Wildlife From Super-Toxic Rat Poisons.

OAKLAND, Calif.— The Center for Biological Diversity submitted a formal notice of intent today to sue California pesticide regulators for failing to protect endangered San Joaquin kit foxes, California condors and 11 other endangered species from “super-toxic” rat poisons.

Coyotes on the prowl in north Fresno County neighborhoods, why pet owners are terrified.

Concerned residents took to the Next Door App to warn others of the coyotes. Many posted saying they saw the animals in Northeast Fresno and North Clovis. Animal experts say it’s not uncommon for coyotes to infiltrate into neighborhoods during the winter as they look for new food sources.
