LA Officials Trying to Manage Typhus Outbreak That Has Reached “Epidemic Levels”.

Local experts are blaming the city’s ever-expanding homeless population as the reason for the scourge in the outbreak. Twenty cases of the rare, flea-borne infectious disease have been recorded in Pasadena alone over the past two months, according to the Los Angeles County Health Department. Typhus is often associated with poor sanitary conditions and overcrowding, NY Post reports.
