How much storm water is LA catching?

Los Angeles County storm water capture systems have shunted enough water from rain-swollen rivers into percolation ponds this rain season to serve the annual water needs of about a half-million people, an official said Monday.

L.A. to acquire property known as 'crown jewel' in river revitalization strategy.

The Los Angeles City Council voted Friday to spend $59.3 million to buy a piece of land billed as a “crown jewel” in Mayor Eric Garcetti’s push to restore an 11-mile stretch of the Los Angeles River.
