Howdy

Entomological purist will probably be wondering why we set the filter to Arthropods rather and Hexapods. It's because we don't want to our observers to get too tangled up in the technical definitions. Insects have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-part body (head, thorax and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes and one pair of antennae, but some insects don't meet all these requirements in every one of their life stages and some arthropods like spiders and centipedes and isopods are so gosh darn cool, it would be a shame to exclude them. So, if it has a chitinous exoskeleton and jointed legs, take a picture, post it and we'll let the experts decide if it's an insect or not.
