Oregon Tree of Heaven Tally's Journal

So excited to see folks joining this project today and some observations for this bio-blitz period starting to show on the map! Thanks so much to all who have joined the effort so far!

35 project members and 10 observations already! Kudos to tater_tot, capnacorn, porthos and kyle soloman for jumping into the early lead with observations in the PDX area - now let's get the rest of the state diving in!

Don't forget to add in a photo of leaf detail along with your tree photos - this will help others confirm your ID and bump your observation up to research grade. Every confirmed siting is one step closer in keeping spotted lanternfly at bay in Oregon!

There are no words to describe how excited we are at how the numbers of tree-of-heaven identifications are growing! A huge thanks naturalists, and keep up the good work logging in your finds and verifying the work of others. We especially appreciate the extra photos that show the leaves closer up and the heart-shape scars on the bark of young trees to help with verification. You rock!!

Will we hit the 100 observations mark just one week into this bio-blitz? We've got a good feeling about that thanks to all of you who are stepping up big time to get this project MOVING! A special shout-out to @lburman and @jerminator for getting in those east side observations. More please!

This project is growing by leaps and bounds thanks to all your work! Please help spread the word about it via social media, etc. to help us get observations of TOH from all around the state. Keeping the buzz up will help strengthen protections against spotted lanternfly!
