Excellent Start! Keep Going!

After less than a month, the San Mateo County Bio-Blitz crossed three major milestones. We have more than fifty members, over 1,000 taxa recorded, and more than 2,000 individual observations. Photo-documentation of the county's life forms includes everything from abundant species to one-time rarities. Participants range from professional biologists to young students, birders, lepidopterists, entomologists, California Native Plant enthusiasts, and backyard naturalists. Encourage your friends, neighbors, students, teachers, and fellow hikers to participate, as we together gain a better knowledge of the eco-systems of our local area. Let's see if we can get to 2,000 taxa by sometime in June...it'll be harder than the first thousand, for sure, but all the more fun because of that.

Another Milestone

We've reached 3,000 observations, with 59 participants and over 1100 species. Thanks to all participants - and everyone, bring another one to the project.
