New Year BioBlitzes and Activities

San Mateo County continues to be an iNaturalist leader, thanks to YOU! A quarter of a million observations, of 6,700 species by 8,800 observers! That's amazing - and we intend to keep extending this "ad astra"!

There are two scheduled BioBlitzes approaching, both of which have their projects set up here on iNaturalist. Please join these projects and register for them on Eventbrite

February 15 (Saturday, all day; Sunday if weathered out on Saturday) - Sam McDonald upper reaches south of Pescadero Creek Road - we are going to fill in the spaces that we were unable to do last year - you have to respond to participate, as this is a more strenuous and more protracted BioBlitz than most - check out the project map here and join!

April 25 (Saturday, hours tba) - Devil's Slide Trail Park Bioblitz - part of the City Nature Challenge. This is a short trail, but with a number of unique plants, and, from a birding perspective, Rock Wren (rare in San Mateo county) and nesting seabirds on Egg Rock.
