If you see a Tui or Fantail nesting please call my mobile no:022-120-7237. I would love to learn the location and monitor the nests outcome.
If you also see a leg-banded tui or fantail I would also be interested in learning the location of the banded individual and the colour of the leg-bands.
The breeding months are typically September to March but they may also be seen building nests at the end of winter.
I am keen to hear out about nesting Tui and Fantails in Wellington City Council Reserves and also on private property.
My study area is bordered to the North by Tawa / Takapu Valley, to the West by the Karori / Owhiro Bay / Wilton and to the East by Howokiwi / Takapu Valley (i.e.West of Highway 1). Please follow this link: http://wellington.govt.nz/webmap/wccmap.html
for a map of this area and the WCC 'Ward' Borders that act as limits for my study.
