Wolf Ridge Naturalist BIG Year 2018-19's Journal

The species grand total for 2017-18 was 1,171. Today we reached 1,172 with several weeks left.

Our goal was to pass 900 species by June 7. We did that and more!

We passed our goal and are still quickly moving forward. What will be our total by June 7 (last day of school year)?

Now at 844 total species. The pace is picking up and it looks like we will reach our mark of 900 species by June 7.

At just over 760 collective species, birds are returning and insects are coming out... things will speed up!!

We did very well by focusing on birds and fungus. Nice work everyone!!

With 10 days remaining and 25 species to reach 500 species, it would be easy to relax. Let's make sure we get it!!

Last year on Oct 1, we had just over 430 species. I think we can do better. We are already at 220 species on day 4.
