I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and grew up there and in Uganda, where I developed a great interest in nature. Several months after Idi Amin had his military coup we had to leave Uganda.

I lived in Australia for a few years before moving to New Zealand in 1976.

Now, I am a retired photolithographer, and amateur photographer who enjoys photographing small creatures purely to see the details that are impossible to see with the naked eye.
