Glaucocharis elaina

CRAMBIDAE: Crambinae 5

Glaucocharis elaina (Meyrick, 1882). F.L. 6.5-9.5 mm. Endemic. Common.

G. elaina lacks a series of dark spots just in from the termen fringe and is a fairly plain grey or greenish grey, whereas G. parorma is more colourful.

Habitat, seasonality and behaviour 6

Adults are on the wing from October to April in native forest. They fly at night and come to light.

Life history 6

Unknown, but the larva is probably a moss-feeder in common with other Glaucocharis species.
