Trachypepla euryleucota (Meyrick, 1883). Endemic.
This moth is one of several that closely mimic bird droppings, though the forewing pattern and tufts of raised scales also provide camouflage against a patchwork background of lichens.
Adults are found from November to March in native forest. They can sometimes be found resting on walls or fences by day; they later fly at night and come to light.
