Eschatotypa melichrysa (Meyrick, 1880). Endemic.

Distinct dark apical spot and lack of definite dark line in forewing fringe indicate melichrysa, much less common than E. derogatella.

Habitat, seasonality and behaviour. 4

According to Hudson (1928) the perfect insect appears in December and January with similar habits to E. derogatella.
