Description ³

Adults: Black head, neck, back and wings with white throat, chest and belly. They also have white patches on the wings and on the back, with pink legs and feet. In breeding condition their facial skin becomes purple with orangy-red growths on the face above the beak.
Juveniles: Dark brown with dull brown patches on the wings and back and dull purple facial skin.
