Miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with slender, fusiform, erect stems enveloped basally by several, small, close sheaths and carrying linear-lanceolate, coriaceous, semi-terete with a shallow median furrow, clasping basally, acute apically leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, laxly 5 to 7 flowered, racemose, pilose hyaline inflorescence with 3 basal, subdistant, elongate, triangular bracts and similar yet shorter flower bracts.

Habitat Type 3

It grows on emergent trees in dense wet forests or on small trees, in steep rocky, exposed slopes, over a minimum of eight ecoregions, from 100 to 2,000 m asl. light-loving orchid, which grows on the tallest branches of emergent trees (e.g.,Eperua falcata, Macrolobium accacifolium, Virola michelli, Ceiba species and Couratarispecies), or on small trees on steep rocky exposed slopes in canyons. It also grows in moist sites such as swamps, in wet lowland forest, wet pre-montane and montane forest, and cloud forest. This species occurs over a minimum of eight ecoregions from 100 to 2,000 m asl.
