Mantids in Hokkaido

I have read for years that Praying Mantids are found throughout Japan, including on the island of Hokkaido. But I noticed that there are no mantis observations for Hokkaido posted on your World Map. Obviously there are several possible reasons for this. I was just wondering why this is.
