Journal Post 5 - Prairie Peatmoss

Date: 3/16
Time: 4:15-5:20pm
Weather: Sunny, cool

Through the forest grounds that were exposed to sunlight, the prairie peatmoss began to make its appearance among the other emerging species across the forest floor. Emerging signs of life among what seemed to be a sea of dead dried-up leaves and twigs. The light green clusters are characteristics of a prairie peat moss and the wet, moist soil is a perfect growing ground for the species.
