What
Pūtangitangi (Paradise Shelduck) (Tadorna variegata)Observer
austinjswDescription
The paradise shelduck was found on the shore of Avon River about 1 PM. It seems that the duck is very lazy and has no vigilance on people.
I have also seen there were the same kind of ducks are catching fish. They will plunge into the water to catch food.

What
South Island Fantail (Rhipidura fuliginosa ssp. fuliginosa)Observer
austinjswDescription
I met this fantail in Lincoln's liffey domain around 4:30 PM on Wednesday. It just landed on a sloping tree trunk. I have tried close to it but it looked like the fantail was alert. It should have found food around it, So it stayed pretty long before it flew away.

What
Monarch (Danaus plexippus)Observer
austinjswDescription
accidentaly seen this monarch butterfly flying around the garden. The time was about 10:00 o'clock, I thought it was trying to take pollen from garden. It has red and black colour on its wings, the colour of its wings should be more vivid than the photos shown.
