Description

On sooty mould infested tree. Spores length=5.6–6.6µm (µ=5.8, σ=0.39), width=3.2–4.0µm (µ=3.6, σ=0.28), Q=1.4–1.8µm (µ=1.60, σ=0.16), n=6. Without rhizoids. Pileus entirely covered in cream tomentum. Pilocsytidia few, brown, thin-walled. H. nothofaginea seems to have consistently yellowing lamellae with age.

under Leptospermum scoparium. Cap viscid, flexible, centrally depressed. Edge not pectinate. Stem in-compressible. Gills with numerous lamellullae (series of 3), white, not spotting. Smell slightly chemical. Taste mild? Spores length=7.1–8.5µm (µ=7.7, σ=0.39), width=6.1–7.9µm (µ=6.9, σ=0.47), Q=1.0–1.2µm (µ=1.12, σ=0.07), n=20
