Hi Everybody,
I'm Howard from Southern Oregon, wer'e already aquatinted with some of you. Just an old guy with a Border Collie named Axel running around. I first got involved with iNat a couple of years ago as my mom and I are involved with the Glide Wildflower Show when we had a Bio-Blitz on here. We have a route for North Josephine County that we have been doing down here for about ten years now. We also have volunteered some with the Southern Oregon Native Plant Society, and I have done some work with KSWild.
Yeah, where it all started.... My mom was working on a Horticulture Degree at UCC back in the 70's and she always had me in the botany courses with her, as well as me in science courses in high school. I also had an outdoor 4-H club, and we did a lot of hikes that we fried a lot of corn dogs for. As such, my actual degree is in medicine, that's close right? I actually spent my working years in industry as a welder, sort of, my least 16 years were doing all the Aluminum work in a truck shop, that included everything to run that part of the business too. So, I'm all retired from that now.
So, my mom and I work on our botany projects now, she's a retired florist, and if you see a big beautiful native plant arrangement at one of the shows, that's her!
Our favorite plant... The cool one we are looking at today LOL
Most of our time though, my Border Collie and i can be found wandering aimlessly somewhere along the Wild Rogue.
