I'm a research scientist at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies who studies plants, arthropods and birds in human-dominated landscapes. Much of my current research focuses on the ecology and conservation of species interactions, trait-based ecology, community science, and urban and forested ecosystems. I also have an inordinate fondness for moths (and caterpillars!).

Part of my research is understanding how iNaturalist, and other community-collected data, can be used to better understand plant-animal interactions at macroecological scales. If you take a photo of a caterpillar on it's host plant, or a bee on a flower, annotate what plant it's visiting! You can add that data to two of our projects for the northeast.
