I have a Master's degree in Entomology and I have worked in Biological Control for almost two years, where I worked mainly with the potential of Bryocorinae (Hemiptera: Miridae) as biological control agents of tomato pests.
Now I am working on the monitoring of populations of Xylella fastidiosa vectors in Alentejo.
My group of interest is the Hemiptera, more specifically the Auchenorrhyncha. I am far from being an expert but I have been identifying a lot of portuguese Cicadellidae along with other researchers.
I also have a soft spot for the Heteroptera in general.
I am familiar with most common families of most orders but I always prefer to give a lower, more conservative Identification and let the specialists identify further. It is better to be sure of a lower level identification than to be wrong about a species ID.
