There are two objectives in this project.

Firstly, to log iNaturalist species that have, so far within the UK, exclusively been recorded in Breckland. This is also not to necessarily say the species logged here are endemic to Breckland in the UK, nor are they necessarily uncommon. They simply have not yet been recorded in the UK anywhere else but Breckland.

The second objective is to track those species which are specialist are largely restricted to Breckland according to the Breckland biodiversity audit (BBA). The project checklist lists these species. Some of these species may be recorded elsewhere in the UK despite their status in the BBA.

For both objectives species may have been recorded or even be common elsewhere in the world.

The first objective was performed by creating a boundary for the Breckland National Character area - downloading the occurrence data for both Breckland and the UK and comparing the two to find where the Breckland Occurrence for a species = the UK occurrence.

The second objective was performed by inputting a checklist of species recorded in the BBA as entirely restricted or largely restricted to Breckland, and adding those species that fall either in or within 10kms of the BNCA.
