Thanks for your ongoing help monitoring and documenting the plant communities of the Kaipatiki Stream area. Kaipatiki's many and varied wildlife habitats and surrounding forest remnants host an amazing variety of species, with a fascinating history. These habitats are a thrill to discover and a joy to be in, while threatened by the replacement of native species by invasive exotics, the erosion of stream banks due to increased stormwater runoff and reticulation from the continued increased density of housing with impermeable surfaces, and the concentration of recreational use of natural heritage reserves into those not currently closed due to kauri dieback.
