Description
Unusual host: Simmondsia chinensis. On private property along a conservation easement with permission from the landowner.
ETA: note the fruit - female plant. I've aslo seen these many times in creosote bush, but haven't seen any with flowers or fruit on that species.

@stevejones Taking a guess here. The stems didn't seem thick enough to be buckhorn cholla, but perhaps a little too thick to be pencil cholla. (On shore of Canyon Lake.)

Description
These worms emit a bioluminescent slime when disturbed. The slime is greenish-blue when it glows.

Description
The location is approximate but close, shifted east on the map from where I spotted this saguaro on Cascabel Rd. This dual-speared saguaro was seen by chance, after I stopped and scanned this slope using binoculars.

Description
Sadly, this invasive species has absolutely destroyed the aquatic habitat of Tanque Verde Creek. Observed from lower falls down to forest service border. Not sure of the full range.

Description
Likely hybrid, possibly C. arbuscula and C. fulgida.
EFNs were very active most of the late spring and summer 2022. See comments. This year (2023) the EFNs were mostly inactive for spring and early summer, but suddenly very active starting around July 28. The EFNs are active at night, primarily.
Flowers are present in 2023 but nowhere near as many as in 2022. The flowers only open in the late afternoon and close at night.
