I was photographing a Robber Fly with it's prey item (a Robber Fly, which had captured a small native bee, both shown in last photo). I didn't even know the Anole was nearby until it suddenly pounced on the Robber Fly. The Anole ended up gulping down both the Robber Fly and the Bee.

I have many Brown Anoles in my yard. I would have ID'd and ignored this one as Brown, except the dewlap is the wrong color. The dewlap looks like a Bark's, but the body markings look like a Brown. Can the Brown's dewlap vary from red to this color? Any Anole experts want to weight in?
