Appears to be M. monica by range and the gonopods look identical to me. M. porrecta is the only one nearby afaik but it seems to be restricted to Kern cyn? Gonopods look very different imo
If they are M. monica I was surprised to see how bright the bioluminescence was. After ~10 min in a dark room it was possible to resolve details of individual rings, legs, antennae, etc. Variation across the range?
Observed growing in rough pasture on the edge of native forest (kowhai/ribbonwood/matai/Olearia) near a farm track. Plantation radiata pine not far away.
Found in well decayed aspen wood at 9000 to 9500 meters elevation. Photographed very near the type locality.
