On a South-facing slope here. This time last year this population was still flowering, yet all 60+ plants at this location have already gone to fruit by today. Probably the sparse rain the region had in January and February. Plants on North-facing slope not yet flowering.
Two colonies of A. amplexicaulis growing between a road and tree line.
Single plant of A. amplexicaulis next to roadside.
Very large sized colonies of A. sullivantii, consisting of 100+ clones intertwined in a concentrated area, in a low and very moist section of black soil prairie pasture, near an open highway drain that feeds into the field and nearby creek. It's hard to tell just how many individual colonies exist.
