under a coverboard.
Habitat developed all around location and habitat "restoration" bulldozed the area for native plants killing this snake and many others like it.
Amazing snake rescued from a home. I’ve not seen this morph before. It’s called a Highway Morph.
Light colored Golden Brown Banded Morph.
A perfect banded. No half bands or y's. Not common.
Dead, its tail was hanging out of the mouth of a small California kingsnake which was crawling along the side of the trail at 5:30 pm. There were still large puddles from rain in the morning. I had know idea there were blind snakes here, and I assume this species has never been found here before, at least not recently. Just double check the pics in case I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the kingsnake didn't its meal, even though I picked him up before I saw the blind snake.

CA, IMP Co., south end Salton Sea
Observer Comments: was seen swimming in the lake and then crawled into rocks. Size about 1.2 meters. Very likely an escaped pet, or possibly a stow-way. Was never captured.
My first king exhibiting the "blotched" phase. All individuals were left where they were found.

This Cane Toad found dead after apparently being attacked by Spotted Python, also found dead next to it.
Seen at Lopez Cyn at 3:03 pm
This is pretty horrible but... interesting. A King Snake (the second one we saw) returned to the pond area and somehow grabbed a lizard, and ate it. I was lucky to be there with my camera but felt sorry for the little herp - I like lizards
Strangely, the wild birds were coming VERY close to the snake, even hovering over it as though they were going to strike it and these were small birds of varying types. I don't know if they're curious or threatened but they aren't very smart! That King Snake is fast." - Virginia Tucker

Very unfortunate DOR, but it was interesting to see evidence of a coral snake eating a coral snake mimic. I will post a separate observation for the scarlet snake

Looks like a king snake was eating a (maybe) garter snake. Both were dead - they were right on the trail.

Spotted with Bat-eared fox kill. The bird then crouched down on the ground in what looked like an attempt to hide. See: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/7204117
