Found along Kinabalu summit trail, elevation ~ 2000-2500 M elevation. Roughly 35-40 mm total length. Missing all right and left rear apical tarsi. Genus determined from Passalidae (Coleopetra) Recorded From The Crocker Range, Sabah, Malaysia (Kon 2005)

Long-horned Amazon Ant (Polyergus longicornis)Observer

So, this is a polyergus bilateral gynandromorph! ½ worker caste (red), ½ alate (black). The mandibles, eyes, single wing, and antennae are the more obvious caste traits reflected in each half of this individual. Found them shortly after leaving the colony possibly (I found one a few feet away).
