Dassiepoep Vygie
Small 5-6cm cm but sprawling to 50cm. Plant is totally unanchored, i.e. has no roots into ground and rests in rock hollows, usually on large slabs of flat rock in a drainage channel where some soil does collect under the plant.
For nutrients I guess it relies on the rain to wash guano and animal droppings in its direction.
Very flimsey - a strong wind could blow it away!
At the end of the long dry season the totally desiccated papery plant somehow managed to flower like this!
