This is a POSED specimen. The individual was still slightly teneral, but had certainly not emerged on the last hour. During the summer of 2007, we added 14 new locations for the species in New Brunswick on several different rivers and tributaries, almost all with exuviae records. Other than what were field sight observations, ostensibly of adults in flight at twilight, this and a teneral female were the only adult individuals we managed to collect during the survey.
Lifer! In car, rolled window down, heat escaping distorted somewhat. No time to get out.
This is an older sighting 2015. I've never added an Orange Sulphur ... until now.
Joint effort ... @becksinsects Rebecca McCluskey, @nbdragonflyguy Denis Doucet and myself saw this beauty today at Fundy National Park at the end of the FNP 2022 weekend bioblitz.
EDIT: See comments below. There was a sighting in 1995 by Karl Dexter in Saint John area. I had originally posted above but have removed the following:
1st confirmed record of Comet Darner in Atlantic Canada.
These are 1st images confirming one in Atlantic far as I know.
