Valley-floor wetland.
Locally common in slowly flowing water at outlet of Lake Te Wapu. Formerly common on Rekohu, particularly in Te Whanga now rather scarce - we are not sure why this has happened either.
Branching pattern 'zig-zagged', leaf apices obtuse, inflorescences with 3-4 carpels.
In Ross Creek car park on Burma Rd. On branch in centre of photo. Present in area since 22 April (heard singing then)
Resting up on beach
Narrow strip of kanuka trees along roadside. Kanuka trees on the E side (Ngai Tahi property) are alive, but trees on the W side have been chopped off and killed. A row of pine trees has been planted in their place.
We are still losing the last fragments of remnant native vegetation on the Canterbury Plains...
Unknown growth on a tree. The growth has a cork-like texture. Host tree is unknown but appears to be a large vine.
