Description
I spooked the grasshopper when walking and the robber fly tackled it out of the air. Took quite awhile before the robber fly could right itself. I have lots of photos of various angles I could add if it will help with identification.

Description
Very strange creature. Found in a pile of wood litter by a redcedar tree. It was definitely alive, and was moving appendages at the "front" (left of the first photo). Looks like it's probably an isopod, but... maybe some kind of weird pill millipede, or other short and flat millipede?
