Description
This jackrabbit led the way down the trail for about 1/4 mile. It was always a few yards ahead of us. If I stopped to take a photo, it would wait until we caught up. It was very delightful company.
I think I've seen this rabbit before. I recognize its injured ear.

I was driving home from a morning of photography up on the Cascade Lakes Highway. I got lucky and saw the Mount Bachelor Sierra Nevada Red Fox crossing the road. I pulled over and it stopped and gave me a couple looks. Just enough time for a few pics.

TOWHEES IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR.
Heard a mysterious tapping sound as I returned to my car. At first, I considered a nearby woodpecker. But it was merely a lonely California Towhee, tapping on the mirror of my car.
