Maybe a gall? coming from the trunk small tree. Did not take good enough note of what species the plant was but maybe Pomaderris or one of the daisies. There is a dried up daisy flower in the image.
Unknown Moth - Gracillariidae KH01
flew off, bumped into a fern then played dead
50×60mm so too big for *Pterulicium fasciculare *
Raspy Cricket
This fellow was very sick when we found him in the morning. Kept him in the day thinking he would die but he recovered and we let him go. We can only surmise a spider bite? Black face with a white spot between the eyes and two oblong white patches above the antenna base. Thought it was a pale brown Katydid while photographing it, and was surprised that it was aggressive! We heard it "rasping" it's wings but the video couldn't pick up the sound, so it wasn't loud. It's about 30mm long, mature (because it has full wings) and it's a male (because it has no ovipositor). Extremely long antenna (about 45mm; 1.5x body length), but one is broken about half way along. It's red from the front (face & front legs)
Pseudocolus fusiformis
Mycena leaiana sp and Eulamprus murrayi
A few small colonies were observed, all on tree-ferns near the creek.
