Pair located in bat tube on grounds of Kenmore State High School near Moggill Creek. We have seen micro-bats in this tube in the past but have been unable to satisfactorally photograph them. The tube is evidently popular with micro-bats. Identified as Gould's Wattled Bats

Field Notes - Key point here is the location. This bird is endemic to Lord Howe Island. It has been iconic in its fall in numbers due to rodents and colonisation then subsequent rise from near extinction in recent years.

Description
The individual appeared to be attempting to cross the spit at low tide. People interfered, thinking the animal would drown, carrying it back to the sand dunes. He/she then walked about 100m back to the same spot to attempt to cross. We Googled to find out if echidnas can swim; on affirming this, we advised other people who were going to move the animal again, to leave it alone. We feel if the people hadn't have moved him/her in the first place, they would have timed it perfectly to cross at low tide. He/she attempted to swim towards the island, but turned around and headed back to the sand dunes.
