Outer perianth lobes appear to be inflated above the middle; stamens not exserted. Not 100% on ruling out E. maculatum due to glands on involucres being stalked, but they don't necessarily seem 'hairy'.

Definitely one of the coolest bees I've ever seen. There were a few of these on the phacelia. I didn't check all the different phacelia plants for them but one of the plants had several on them.
