Confirmation needed. S. arecifolium is very similar as well. Both seem to be non-native. It is the spiniest plant I’ve seen in Florida so far and the only specimen I saw in this preserve. It was on the side of the trail.

Description
With the serrate leaves and very hairy I think this negates Solanum nigrum, americanum, emulans, and intereus species. No red fruit yet but very large flowers. Stamens in a much different looking configuration. This is why I am going with Solanum villosum. I don't know if this will have time to set and ripen fruit this year. We have snow coming in 5 days. This is not planted or cultivated. But the area has alot of migratory birds on the lakes and ponds. So possibly seeded by birds?
