Lepisiota capenis trading in ant parts! L capensis have taken over my back garden which was previously ruled by Argentines. Whether these images represent part of a major cleaning up operation or the spoils of war I am unsure:)

Description
Beautiful and fragile coral fungus. Raspberry red when small, coral pink when older. ID unknown. Have only seen this in Birdwood Gully Springwood. Growing in soil bank at edge of track.

Description
Cap 70 mm across. White smooth convex pileus, pink close gills, white smooth stipe or stem, flaring annulus or ring. Pileus and stipe stained yellow when bruised or cut. One of eleven specimens found growing on leaf litter beneath northwest middle canopy Quercus agrifolia (California Oak). Waite Arboretum Tree ID #485A.
