Description
This is a very special place! Very exciting, because there are healthy F.grandifolia trees of all ages with no evidence of BLD. There is no understory, however, because of the deer population. There is a huge meadow and, a Big Woods, with trees going back hundreds of years.

Description
I'd never seen the flowers of these fascinating plants. The flowers look like tiny green beach umbrellas. On the underside of some of these umbrellas were yellow woolly tufts. These tiny umbrellas were held up by dark purple stems.

Description
Impressive cultivated stand, in a commercial garden. The biggest Persicaria I have ever seen, as tall as the tallest sunflowers, over 12 feet tall, almost as tall as the building.

Description
Leaves lance shaped with small teeth that are widely spaced apart. The leaves are sessile and opposite. Stems scabrous. Florets have tiny white ray flowers and four angled disc florets. The flowers have about ten leafy sepals/bracts.
The seeds are gray truncated cones with little warts.

Description
The leaves appear to break off, leaving slanted tears. Stems solid vs Phragmites, which has hollow stems (see last couple of photos). Stem get progressively thicker towards the bottom.
