Hembra de coyote, observada cerca de un tiradero de basura, muy posiblemente buscando alimento, ya que a simple vista parecía estar bastante flaca. La observación fue muy cerca de la carretera Mexicali - San Felipe.

Family Tradition

This beautiful young female Harris's Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus) is now the fifth generation/fledgling that the adults have brought to meet us. They have at least one new young male and female, in addition to last year's young. (There were five here, yesterday.) They don't take her on the hunts, so, she just hangs around the yard and, in about ten days, has become quite comfortable with MaryEllen and myself. They still don't like 'strangers'. She is very inquisitive, and, when I went into the bird blind, she flew right around to the front of it, landed, and looked at me.

One chick hatched July 3, I think. There are now two chicks in the nest just a few days from fledgling. I'll try to keep some photo records of them as my time permits.
