We think this could be a Grahams crayfish snake, and not a common water snake. It exhibited no patterning and was quite dark, even on the belly ( maybe a mature female?) Seen sunning on a limestone rock next to the low water crossing. Will try to get a better photo if we see it again. About 6 miles north on Hopkins Creek Rd., In the creek by the same name. Have seen a milk chocolate colored younger one near our intermittent creek a mile south.

Originally identified as Arizona Mountain Kingsnake, but I was corrected that the ones in this location are genetically the Chihuahuan, and the morphology isn't a good indicator.
