Super cool find in the middle of the night. I got within a couple feet of this one and probably could've grabbed him with my hands. He kept patrolling this part of the shore and didn't seem to care that I was there.

After 2 hours with a bunch of runs we got a big run on a rod and then successfully set the hook, we fought it for about 30 minutes and had to get in the water to land it becuase we di not have a rope handy, but we were able to land it, we weighed it and it came i. At 150pounds roughly and was about 6 1/2 ft long, it is my personal best and a monster fish, he was safely realeased and went on to live his life!

This was a bizarre sighting as we were canoeing in Georgian Bay near the town of Killarney. This “cloud” of what looked like “black minnows” was about a metre long, a half a meter wide, and about 20cms deep, moving slowly along about 4 meters from shore, and didn’t even flinch as our canoe passed over them. It appeared that many on the top of the “school?” were breaking the surface for air. Very creepy (I know - highly scientific word) 🤔
