It was quite small, possibly juvenile, and froze as I approached. It was on the edges of the Spruce River highlands trail. It stayed motionless as I passed within 2 feet of it.
Walked directly towards us when we stopped the truck to observe it. Came to the side with the open window, looked straight at us and flicked its ears as it listened to us talk. Beautiful golden eyes. It was curious, and not frightened of humans or vehicles at all.
